Light Maintenance assessments
August 7, 2000
BACKGROUND: The resolution is adopted annually to provide a levy to fund the cost
of maintenance and electricity for City Street lights. Lighting
assessments are charged at .00142 per square foot. There is no
change in the assessment rate this year.
RECOMMENDATION: Adoption of resolution establishing the assessments.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The City anticipates receiving $75,718 in revenue to be used for the
costs associated with Light Maintenance.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by Council.

A RESOLUTION LEVYING AN ASSESSMENT FOR THE COST OF LIGHTING THE
STREETS AND ALLEYS IN THE CITY SPECIAL LIGHTING DISTRICT FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR 2000-2if`

WHEREAS, the assessment cost of the Special Lighting District for
the fiscal year 2000-1900 is estimated to be $75,718.00,
and
WHEREAS, at a public hearing held on the 17th day of July, 2000,
the City Council did consider all objections made to said
estimate and to the basis of levy and assessment for
payment for said cost.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CIT----- COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL, MONTANA:
SECTION I. That a tax be levied for the assessment cost,
of $75,718.00, be in the amounts set opposite the
description of each lot or parcel off land, as shown by
the special assessment lists on file in the office of the
City Finance Director.
SECTION Ii. The amount of said tax shall be levied
proportionately on an area basis in the amount of $.00142
per square foot of lot or parcel of land within the
district except public streets or rights of way.
