Special Street Maintenance assessments
August 7, 2000
BACKGROUND: The resolution is adopted annually to provide a levy to fund the cost
of street maintenance within the City of Kalispell. The assessments
are per square foot of all property in the City at a rate of .0045 per
square foot. There is no change in the assessment rate this year.
RECOMMENDATION: Adoption of resolution setting the fees Street Maintenance.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The City anticipates receiving $398,000 in revenue to be used for the
costs associated with the Street maintenance program.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by Council.

A RESOLUTION LEVYING AN ASSESSMENT FOR THE COST OF SPECIAM
14AINTEXANCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAINTAINING THE STREETS AND AVENUEJ
#1 THE CITY OF KALISPELL FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2000-2001.
WHEREAS, the assessment cost of the Special Maintenance District
#1 for the fiscal year 2000-2001 is estimated to be
$398,000, and
WHEREAS, at a public hearing held on the 17th day of July, 2000,
the City Council did consider all objections made to said
estimate and to the basis of the levy and assessment for
payment for said cost.
NOW THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL, MONTANA:
SECTION 1. That a tax be levied for the assessment cost,
or $398,000.00, be in the amounts set opposite the
description of each lot or parcel of land, as shown by
the special assessment lists on file in the office of the
City Finance Director.
SECTION II. The amount of said tax shall be levied
proportionately on an area basis in the amount of $.0045
per square foot of lot or parcel of land within the
district except public streets or rights of way.

THE CITY OF KALISPELL, THIS 7TH DAY OF AUGUST, 2000.
