Resolution 4569 - Annual Tax Levies1 r City of Kalispell Post Office Box 1997 • Kalispell, Montana 59903-1997 • Telephone (406) 758-7700 • FAX (406) 758-7758 REPORT TO FROM: SUBJECT: MEETING DATE: Mayor Boharski and City Council Members Amy Robertson, Finance Director Chris Kukulski, City Manager Mill levy - FY2001 Budget August 7, 2000 BACKGROUND: The resolution is adopted annually to provide a levy to fund the City's Budgets for the General Fund, Comprehensive Insurance Fund, Health Insurance Fund and Retirement Fund. The mill levy is set at the allowed amount per the calculations on forms provided by the Department of Revenue. The levy calculation adjusts the mill value for changes resulting from SB 184 and HB260. The new City levy is 122.00 mills. The revenue generated by this levy becomes the new cap for the City of Kalispell. RECOMMENDATION: Adoption of Resolution 4569 setting the mill levy at 122.00 for the City of Kalispell. FISCAL EFFECTS: Levy will generate $2,581,008 in tax revenue for the City. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by Council. Amy H. Robertson Chris A. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. That there is hereby levied upon each and every dollar of the taxable valuation of the City of Kalispell, Montana, for the fiscal year 1999-2000, the following levies: 76.25 MILLS COMPREHENSIVE INSURANCE 12.86 to 122.00 MILLS PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AND SIGNED BY THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, THIS 7TH DAY OF AUGUST, 2000.
