Bids were received by two companies, L & M Truck Sales and Western States. The bid received from Western States did not include a bid bond and was not eligible for consideration. The L & M Truck Sales offer included 3 vehiele� as follows: 2006 International 7400 with new Godwin Model SOOT Dump box & Hoist..............$85,718 2006 International 74,00 with new Godwin Model 500T Dump box & Hoist..............$85,718 2007 Kenworth T800 with used Dump box & Hoist..........................................$118,750 A total of $150,000 has been budgeted for this equipment investment. A previous request for offers was advertised in October 2012, with no responses, necessitating slight modifications to the solicitation and re -advertisement in December 2012 yielding offers listed above. At this time we have been in communication with L & M Truck Sales and have arranged for an independent 3rd party inspection of the two International Trucks. The inspection is scheduled to be completed the week of December 31, 2012. Bid evaluation is ongoing and a recommendation is scheduled for approval at the council meeting on January 22, 2013. ACTION REQUESTED: Motion to postpone awarding the bid for Used. Tandem Axle Dump Trucks to the January 22, 2013 Council Meeting. FISCAL EFFECTS: The purchase will be funded by the Special Streets Fund. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested and approved by the City Council
