Park Hours Ordinance
MEETING DATE: October 2, 2000
BACKGROUND: The City Council identified, in a recent workshop with the Parks
Department and the Police Department, a need to improve the city ordinance regulating
park hours. Currently there is no city ordinance that permits enforcement of park hours.
The Parks and Police Departments believe this ordinance is necessary to control
vandalism in our city parks. The council passed this ordinance on first reading.
RECOMMENDATIONS: The City Council should adopt Ordinance #1364, limiting
park hours on second reading.
FISCAL EFFECTS: None
ALTERNATIVES: As recommended by Council.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING R. 0. 1947, SECTIONS $99-901 (SECTION 19-20
OF CODE), TO PROVIDEFOR OPENING AND CLOSING
HOURS OF PARKS, AND ESTABLISHING EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCILOF OF
MONTANA AS FOLLOWS:
