Kukulski, City Maror*Qr Monthly Activity Report for James Hansz, Public Works December 4, 2000 Highlights of monthly activity for the operating divisions of the Public Works Department for the month of November 2000 are as follows: ENGINEERING DIVISION 0 Attended Kalispell Area TAC and reviewed the proposed Streetscape Project with the members. 0 Attended Chamber of Commerce TAC and reviewed the proposed Streetscape Project. 0 Conducted a Facility Plan 2000 workshop with HDR, MMI, FRDO and Public Works staff. 0 Met with representatives of KRMC to discuss proposed improvements of Sunnyview. 0 Met with representatives of Waterford Development to review their development plans. 0 Met with Downtown Business Association to discuss status of Streetscape Project. 0 Continued support of Master Plan process. 0 Prepared a recommendation of county roads that could be annexed into the City. 0 Met with representatives of Crossewell Development to discuss potential revisions of Domesite PUD. 0 Met with MDT and consultant to discuss Meridian Road Project budget and schedule. 0 Discussed with MDT the status of US 93 South Project: schedule, utilities, and ROW acquisition. 0 Supported MDEQ meeting to discuss a Federally mandated and funded source water protection project for the Flathead Valley around Kalispell. 0 Discussed with MDT the status of their proposal to take over some pavement preservation work on Urban Highway system roads in Kalispell. Seems to be snagged in Federal red tape. 0 Met with County Road Superintendent to discuss areas where we can trade winter maintenance for improved efficiency of both organizations. 0 Met with engineer for Crossewell, DNRC, and Hamstead Partners to discuss mutual utility interests in north Kalispell area. 0 Discussed with Architects Design Group revisions of design agreement for equipment storage facility to identify ways to amend it to meet City needs since there will be no co-op project with the County. 0 Advertised for bids for a new backhoe and asphalt patch equipment. ENGINEERING DIVISION continued... 0 Began preparation of specifications for large water meter change -out program to increase metering accuracy and revenues for the Water Division. 0 Worked with the Main and Idaho Project contractor on the tie-ins of the new water mains in North Main. 0 Researched Evergreen force main/utility easements south of airport runway for Hwy 93 storm drainage. 0 Assisted the Police Department in determining alley R/W width on the West Side to resolve an encroachment complaint. 0 Began AutoCAD drawings of results of this year's utility update surveys. 0 Plotted miscellaneous utility maps. Main and Center Streets were also returned to full -activated status. 0 Uncovered new 4-way stop signs at 11 th Street East and 1 st Avenue East. 0 Painted a crosswalk at 5th Street West and 3rd Avenue West that was covered by the chip sealing. 0 Tested City fire pre-emption system. Made repairs at Center and 5th Avenue WN on fire pre- emption system. 0 Replaced two damaged pedestrian pushbuttons at Idaho and 4th Avenue EN on the S/W corner. 0 Assisted in the rewiring of two intersections in Polson. 0 Tested Airport runway lights, made repairs. Rewired ties on the Airport windsox. 0 Replaced breaker on decorative lights. 0 Signed and barricaded for the Christmas Parade. 0 Repaired damaged barricade (Type III) at Rosauer's and 3rd Avenue East. 0 Removed the Artist and Craftsmen Banner. 0 Repaired the damaged decorative light globe that was broken by a commercial vehicle. 0 Provided 41 hours of support to MDOT for sign and signal repairs in NW Montana at the following locations: 2" Street & Central in Whitefish, Hwy 93 & 13th Street, Hwy 93 N & Sunnyview, Idaho & Main Street, Hwy 93 South & 18th Street East, Main & llth Street, Idaho & 4th Avenue EN, Hwy 35 & Walmart in Polson, Hwy 2 East & Hwy 35, Main & Center, Grandview Drive & Hwy 93 North. 0 146 Work orders were completed during the month of November. 0 385 Lab tests were performed during the month of November. 0 16 Loads of sludge were hauled during November. 0 67,151 pounds of bio-solids were pressed. 0 October discharge permit: No violations.
