i Parks & Recreation Highlights:
• Resurface Linderman Tennis courts, install new basketball
stands, hoops, post, and nets;
• Complete overlook trail at Lawrence Park;
• Repair Lawrence Park road;
• Fall Games started for Little Dribblers and Little
Squirts;
• Place stabilization rocks around northend of Woodland Park
Lagoon;
• Salvaged fence posts from airport fields.
Parks Department - Ken Bauska, Foreman:
Maintenance Tasks:
• Overseed low and worn turf areas at KYAC and Woodland Park;
• daily: 13 rest room cleaning
7 pavilion cleaning
31 garbage can cleaning
Seasonal Maintenance:
• Winterize the irrigation systems.
• Winterize all 13 restrooms;
• Mow/weedeat 396 acres -- 30 City Parks; (during half of the
month of October and the other half picked up leaves;
• Spray weeds;
• KYAC: spread compost, plug socccer fields, fill irrigation
ditch, install signs, replace irrigation value lids, hoses,
tyewrap the nets, and remove the irrigation cannons from the
soccer fields;

• Filled ruts and drag fields;
• Clean City Shop yard;
• Obtain bids for shop lean;
Spray weeds for Thompson Park;
Airport soccer fields - finalize moveout;
move picnic tables to City Shop;
• removal all soccer goals to shop for repair, then winter
storage;
• Leaf pickup at Woodland.
Flower beds - remove frost killed flowers.
Downtown Pots - remove frost killed flowers.
Urban Forestry - Michael Baker, Urban Forester:
remove one tree on Grandview Drive;
storm stump removals (twelve total);
prepare contract pruning bids for Tax Inc. District.

well by their second game; dance class is one of the largest
ever; Seniors are enjoying the many birds about during fall;

1. Design for Phase II North Main/Lawrence Park approved by
MDT, final Bridge design done. Environmental review
completed. River easement completed. Cultural review
completed. Design of bridge abatement and GeoTec work in
progress. Sample drilling completed. Final design will
be submitted this month.
2. Meridian Trail Connector/Highway 93 to KYAC Trail,
approved by MDT. Consultant selection complete. DBE is
set at 0%. Contracts are signed. Design in progress.
3. Meridian Road received final reimbursement - closed
project out.
0 Airport Advisory Board: Awaiting results of F.A.A. Airport
Study. Compiling airport revenue projections and meetings
with City Hall, Council, Advisory Board, for consensus.
Progressing billing continues. Completed environmental
assessment RFP. Consultant selected; awaiting contracts and
scope of work.

• Open Woodland Park Ice Rink skating;
• Start Urban Forestry tasks;
• Main & Idaho Intersection Landscaping 75% complete;
• Men's Basketball City League starts.

• Shovel snow or place ice melt -- City owned sidewalks;
• haul wood chips to City Shop, Rose Garden, Lawrence Park

• haul rock to Woodland Park and KYAC;
• feed Woodland Park Ducks;
• move picnic tables to City Shop for repair or storage;
