8. Parking Commission AppointmentCity of Kalispell Post Office Box 1997 - Kalispell, Montana 59903-1997 -Telephone (406)758-7700 Fax(406)758-7758 To: Kalispell City Council Members From: William E. Boharski, Mayor Subject: Appointment to Kalispell Parking Commission Date: December 1, 2000 It is my intention to appoint Bill Goodman to fill the open seat vacated by Vonnie Day on the Kalispell Parking Commission. Mr. Goodman, of all the businessmen in downtown Kalispell, probably has the biggest interest in the parking issues facing the City. His efforts to revive the KM Building involved parking around almost an entire City block. There does, however, seem to be a concern as to whether or not he meets the qualifications to serve on the Parking Commission. State Law requires Parking Commission Board Members to be "City Electors" and Mr. Goodman meets that requirement. RECEIVED NOV 171000 11/16/00 Dear Mayor Boharski, I wish to be considered for the open position on the Kalispell Parking Commission. Thank you very much, Bill Goodman 50 2' St. E. First, though, let me say that I have not entered into this decision lightly and ain quite earnest in my request. I am the sole proprietor of Ena's Reflections, located at 231 South Main, I have worked at Ena's for the past 13 years and earned the ability to purchase this business 4 years ago. I enjoy the friendly atmosphere in which downtown Kalispell still portrays and see this as one of our areas most imique qualities. The aesthetics of our valley are changing rapidly and we all realize that downtown parking will continue to be a focal point for all downtown business owners, employees and most importantly, clients and customers. This vacancy in your team has granted me the opportunity to share my knowledge, logic and team abilities in an effort to create what will someday be an effortless shopping and business experience for all who visit and work in Kalispell. in closing, let me say that when I bought Ena's Reflections from rry mother, this gave her the opportunity to begin her long deserved retirement. It will be interesting to envision what downtown Kalispell will be when I decide to retire. I want to be a part of that vision. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
