4. Bid Award - Aerial Platform Lift TruckWorks Department TO: Doug Russell, City Manager�� FROM: Mark Crowley, Construction Manager SUBJECT: Contract Award — New Aerial Platform Lift Truck MEETING DATE: December 17, 2012 BACKGROUND: The Traffic, Sign & Signals Division of the Public Works Department has solicited bids for a new aerial platform Iift truck. This equipment replaces the 18 year old platform lift truck with a new one. The new truck will allow the City to maintain Iights and signs throughout the City and safely service the taller luminary lights installed recently by MDT on Meridian Road, Stillwater Road and Reserve Loop. The City advertised an Invitation to Bid on November 25, 2012, and received two Bids on Thursday, December 6, 2012 from the following firms: Altec, Inc. $97,432.00 Versalift Northwest, LLC. $93,612.00 The bid from Altec, Inc. was deemed to be non -responsive because required specifications affecting capacity and performance were not included in the bid price. Based upon bid submittals, and a discussion with the bidder, Public Works Department staff recommends the contract be awarded to Versalift Northwest, LLC. ACTION REQUESTED: Motion to award the New Aerial Platform Lift Truck to Versalift Northwest, LLC for $93,612.00. FISCAL EFFECTS: The Aerial Platform Lift Truck CIP has a Fiscal Year 2011/2012 budget of $115,000 and is managed within the TSS Budget. RNAT� : As suggested by the City Council. usie Turner, P. E.
