Thursday, November 29, 2012
Lower Level Main Conference Room
201 First Avenue East
ATTENDING:
Jeff Clawson, Building Official Sean Conrad, Sr. Planner, Acting Chairman
Mark Crowley, Construction Manager Dave Dedman, Fire Chief
Tom Jentz, Planning & Building Director Wade Rademacher, Police Lieutenant
P.J. Sorensen, Chairman Kathy Kuhlin, Recording Secretary
GUESTS: James Freyholtz, MDT
HEAR THE PUBLIC: None.
PERFORMANCE BOND REMINDERS: Crowley is working with various contractors on
cleaning up the Public Works' portion of the Performance Bonds list. Sorensen mentioned that A2Z
has submitted a Cashier's Check to cover landscaping on their project. Crowley informed the
committee of a calendar he keeps specifically for bonds that have been posted. He has offered to
share it with anyone who is interested.
OLD BUSINESS: Family Martial Arts — 3 8th Ave W; change of use from electronics repair to
martial arts studio. The contractor is agreeable to taking out the gravel parking on the street side and
possibly pave it. They are interested in having the public enter from the back side of the building. We
still have not received any drawings back from them.
NEW BUSINESS: None.
PLANNING OFFICE ITEMS: Nothing new for December. The only thing on December's
Planning Board Agenda is a text amendment to the zoning ordinance to make schools and certain
other governmental agencies a permitted use in a lot of the zones so they don't have to go through
the agency exemption process.
OTHER REPORTS: Cabella's — They plan to bring in their building plans in January.
Glacier Eye Clinic — They are planning to build a new two-story structure to move into across from
Glacier High School. This is a 5-acre piece of property. They are presently working on a traffic
study.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:10 a.m.
