4. Proclamation - National Hospice and Palliative Care MonthPROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, more than 1.5 million Americans each year living with life -limiting illness, and their families, receive care
from the nation's hospice programs; and
WHEREAS, hospice and palliative care offer the highest quality services and support to patients and family caregivers
facing serious and life -limiting illness; and
WHEREAS, hospice and palliative care providers take the time to ask what is important to those they are caring for; and
WHEREAS, hospice and palliative care providers encourage everyone to learn more about options of care and to share their
wishes with family, loved ones, and their healthcare professionals; and
WHEREAS, this year's theme for hospice month is "Loving Care at Home When You Need It Most" and will focus on
caregivers who take on the responsibility and stress in assuring their loved one is comfortable.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Tammi Fisher, Mayor of the City of Kalispell, do hereby proclaim the month of November, 2012 as
NATIONAL HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE MONTH
and I encourage all citizens to increase their understanding and awareness of care at the end of life and to observe this month
with appropriate activities and programs. DATED this this 5th day of November, 2012.
