SUBJECT: Willow's Stormwater Improvement Project -Engineer of Record Selection
MEETING: November 5, 2012
BACKGROUND: The City of Kalispell in coordination with the Willow Subdivision
residents, are working toward stormwater improvements to remove the potential flooding risk of
the current stormwater system, bring the subdivision's stormwater detention system up to current
City Standards, and resolve capacity issues created from the impacts of new development
upstream of the Willows Subdivision detention facility.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Three engineering firms were shortlisted from the
prequalified professional engineering service list for Stormwater Collection and Treatment. The
firms were asked to respond to a set of qualification questions in direct relationship to the
project. The selection committee reviewed the received responses and selected Morrison
Maierle, Inc, as the most qualified firm based on several technical and performance criteria.
ACTION REQUESTED: Motion to select Morrison Maierle, Inc. as the Engineer of Record for
the Willows Stormwater Improvement Project.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The project will be funded by the Stormwater Assessment Fund, Impact
Fees, and the development of a Special Improvement District.
