SUBJECT Architectural Review Awards
MEETING DATE: October 1, 2012
BACKGROUND: The City of Kalispell Architectural Review Committee began an awards
program in 2010 to acknowledge quality development in the community that reflects the goals and
purpose of the committee — encouraging originality and innovation to protect and enhance the city's
character and appeal. They have recently selected recipients for its annual awards program. The
committee feels that there have been a lot of examples of good, quality development within the city
over the past few years and wanted to recognize a few of the exceptional ones for their efforts. They
selected the following projects from 2011 — 2012 for special recognition:
Best New Construction
Best Remodel:
Sykes; 202 2nd Avenue West

Architect: Mark Johnson
The Forge; 227 1St Street West
Engineer: A2Z Engineering
Best Addition: Immanuel Lutheran; 25 Claremont Street
Contractor: Hammerquist and Caselegno
Architect: AG Architecture
RECOMMENDATION: Recognize Corey Johnson, chair of the committee, and Mark Norley, a
committee member, to formally make the presentation.
