Sorensen, Zoning Administrator, Chair Sandy Wheeler, Comm. Dev. Mgr. Kathy Kuhlin, Recording Secretary Guests: Jim Atkinson, Flathead County Agency on Aging Hear the Public: None. Performance Bond Reminders: No changes or updates. OLD BUSINESS: West Coast Hotel/Kalispell Center Mall — expansion — They have made some changes and adjustments to the site plan. Everything lays out as far as dimensions if they have updated the overall layout to account for their 8 foot error. They have not submitted anything on landscaping, sidewalks, or lighting. They need to do more than striping for the sidewalks. Public Works and Fire received a copy of the new plans yesterday. MDOT will need to approve the area along Highway 93 (Main Street). PJ will send a letter to Ron LaRue regarding these issues. Any changes to the southeast parking area should be noted. There is a fire issue of tying in the new water connection to the old connection. PJ will let them know to coordinate this with Brent. NEW BUSINESS: None. PLANNING OFFICE ITEMS: None. OTHER REPORTS: Transportation Issues — Jim Atkinson mentioned that there are some positive transportation issues happening in Kalispell. The Kalispell Center Mall owners have been talking with Eagle Transit about working with them on future issues. Potential connections with the Glacier Airport, hotels, Glacier Park, etc. Westview Subdivsion — Roger checked on the wall at the Westview Subdivision near Stillwater/Reserve. It looks like there is plenty of space there and it shouldn't be a problem. Blue Herron — They are trying to get Phase III final platted. There are some construction items that need to be fixed that will be addressed in the spring. They need a bike path along Three Mile Drive, as it is only partially in. They sold one of the lots, so the new owner is involved in the matter The footage along Three Mile is still needing to be completed. They could pay cash in lieu. The new property owner seems willing to negotiate the right-of-way. He may be able to work with MDOT to buy an easement. They will need to pursue this before approval of Phase III. New Firefighters — Brent informed everyone that the new firefighters started yesterday. Their training will coincide with the new station opening in March. City Office Inspections — Our Fire Inspectors will be coming around to do their inspection in the City buildings. Addressing — Brent is working with Fred Zavodny on addressing for new construction. Traffic Hazard — The traffic coming and going in and out of the Home Depot complex at the traffic light on Highway 93 is a nightmare. Discussion was held regarding this situation and possible solutions. The meeting was adjourned at 10:50 a.m. cc: Police City Manager Bldg Fire Planning Parks Comm. Dev. Public Works FCAOA MDOT
