ATTENDING:

Rebekah Wargo, Asst. Civil Engineer Kathy Kuhlin, Recording Secretary
HEAR THE PUBLIC: None.
PERFORMANCE BOND REMINDERS: None.
OLD BUSINESS: None.
NEW BUSINESS: Jimmy Johns — 135 W Idaho; convert office to restaurant — Former
Quizno's building was purchased by new owners. They will be leasing out space to the real estate
office and the beauty salon. They have completed the boundary line adjustments and will be
converting office space into restaurant space for Jimmy Johns. They will be adding six new
parking spaces where there was landscaping previously, but the remaining landscaping meets the
5% required amount. Their dimensions are fine under zoning. Wargo is working on their impact
fee calculations, and Elkins is waiting for some further information to complete his review. This
is approved through Site Review.
PLANNING OFFICE ITEMS: Prestige Assisted Living Care on Glenwood — They will be
submitting a Conditional Use Permit application next week. This will be a 15,000 sq. ft. expansion to
the east of the existing building. They will be meeting with Public Works to discuss the possible need
for another hydrant (may need to extend a water main line and stormwater), an approach onto
Meridian Road and improvements to Glenwood Drive.
OTHER REPORTS: Ashley Square Mall - They had a number of different permits for various
projects within the building. We had a condition regarding some landscaping along the street with a
5' buffer, and a condition about bringing the parking lights into compliance with the outdoor light
ordinance. They have two new applications in for some work on the building that have been put on
hold as they have not completed all of the prior required conditions. Sorensen met with them about
these conditions. The landscaping wasn't intended to be completed because they did not get their TIF
money to complete it. The landscaping along Corporate Drive hasn't been completed, but they
believe this was only necessary because MDOT put in the road. Sorensen will need to get together
with Public Works and Parks regarding these issues, which is tentatively scheduled at 2 p.m. today.
Loading Dock — Clawson met with them on this yesterday. They have decided to do minimal
changes. There will be a little bar area in the back of the building. The beauty salon will stay in the
building where it is. They will put in the elevator and the upstairs will be designed for office space.
The basement will be used as the mechanical room. They will basically only serve beer, wine, and
deli, and will be submitting new plans in July.
Kalispell Regional Medical Center — They have removed the carports and asphalt at the apartments
near the Summit. The parking area is now gravel, which they have striped. They need to bring in
plans to pave this and obtain a construction permit.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:15 a.m.
