SUBJECT: Resolution No. 5556 — A Resolution of Intent and Calling for a
Public Hearing Regarding Future Funding and Maintenance of
the Kalispell City Airport.
BACKGROUND: The City of Kalispell retained the services of Stelling Engineers to
provide a study and report of the various options of funding and maintaining the
Kalispell City Airport and on April 9, 2012 the report was delivered to the City Council
and made public. Some of the options that are analyzed by the consultants and before
the City Council involve the grant of funds from the federal government through the
Federal Aviation Administration. Therefore it is good and necessary that the public have
the opportunity to review the report and comment to the City Council prior to any
decision that the Council may make. Resolution No. 5556 advises the public that the
City Council will be making a decision about the future of the Kalispell City Airport, its
funding and maintenance, and calls for and sets a public hearing.
RECOMMENDATION: City Council give consideration to and pass Resolution No.
5556.
FISCAL IMPACTS: The fiscal impacts are well addressed in the report provided by
Stelling Engineers that is being made public.
Respectfully submitted,
Charles Hiaa 1, In rim City Manager
