Letter of Interest
Conrad Mansion Board of Directors
Position Opening
11/4/03
Dear Directors,
I believe the correct way to begin a "letter of interest " is to first, introduce one's self. My advantage is
that you are all familiar with my identity as we just put a beautiful new roof on the Mansion. Dale
Thompson and I own and manage Flathead Roofing Services.
One of the most important motivators for submitting a bid on your roofingproject is the same motivator for
this letter of interest. We understand that the Mansion is a historic reminder of the beginning of life here in
Kalispell, where we tali home. Since moving here 5 years ago we have become business and property
owners and developed a love for the Flathead Valley that will keep us here into the Golden years (although
I feel I am already living those!).
My background is in employment services for the developmentally disabled I worked in tins fieldfor 10
years, job developing, grant writing, supervising and coaching. I am most noted for an espresso business I
started from scratch (Espresso Yourse O that employed 5 DD adults putting Chrysalis Enterprises in the
coffee magazines; I enjoy being involved in my community. I served on the Snohomish fire department
leading the Women's Auxiltivy and writing the monthly newsletter. My first year here in Kalispell 1
worked as Greg Barkus' assistant at DADavidson and wauressed at The Outlaw to make ends meet. My co
workers have remarked 1 added a creative flair to the workplace.
I also have an extraordinary gift from God of a nurturing heart. "The Little Bitty Ranch" is my home and
where I do horse nursing. I offer post veterin coy wound care. I receive referrals from LaSalle vet at the
point where a horse is healed enough to go home but still needs vaccinations and dressing changes. My
horse facility is setup to confine yet allow for limited exercise as needed I have 4 horses of my own and
trail ride this beautiful Valley as much as possible. This summer I coordinated a trail ride for St Jude
children hospital. I visited many local businesses and secured donations for a BBQ crud prizes Half
Moon Ranch supply donated a saddle as first place. We earned $.2500.00 for St Jude.
My greatest accomplishment in life though is my 17 year old Godson. He came to live with Dale and me 4
years ago. He was troubled expelled from school permanently and on drugs With prayer, patience,
caring and a lot of being involved in his every move he is now graduating with A 's and Bs, is clean and
sober and has made a conscience decision to remain that way. He works out at a local gym and hopes to
be an example to other teens and use his experience to help them with their choices We are so proud of
him. He will graduate from Flathead High School in June.
Myfamily attends "Cowboy Church " each Sunday evening at the Stillwater grange. We experience the
miracles of God each day in our lives and as we gaze at this magnificent, beautiful valley we live in.
Thank you for this opportunity. I look for ward to working with you for the preservation of the Conrad
Marmon should you elect me.

Dear Mayor Kennedy,
CONRAD MANSION MUSEUM

As you know, in late September of this year long-time Conrad Mansion Board member, Norb
.Donahue, submitted his resignation to the City and to the rest of the Board. I know I speak for the
entire Board when I say his service to the Mansion over the many years has been invaluable, and
we will miss his input and perspective at our regular meetings.
I am writing now to ask that you please consider positively the appointment of Mark Munsinger
as Norb's replacement on the Mansion Board. For many years Mark has volunteered his time and
talent to the Mansion during our main fundraiser event, Christmas at the Mansion. His youth,
enthusiasm, commitment, and engineering expertise (engineering being his profession) are
qualities the Board genuinely needs as we approach our 30th anniversary as a Museum. Projects
on the Board's agenda include a multi -year, multi -faceted rejuvenation of the Mansion gardens, as
well as enhancing our involvement with the community as a whole. Mark would be a valuable
asset in these endeavors.
Please know that Mark has my full support. 1 would be happy to talk with you further if you have
any comments or questions; feel free to give me a call anytime.
As an aside, Teri Florman has instituted some great ideas in her first year as full-time manager.
Along with more participation in community events, applying for and receiving various grants —one
from Plum Creek that permitted the total upgrade of our ancient computer system —and better
local and regional PR, she is for the first time opening the house for December Christmas tours,
showcasing the holiday decorations and traditions of the Conrad family.
Thank you, Pam.
