TBIDKalispell Tourism Business Improvement District
October 31, 2011
The Honorable Tammi Fisher
and City Councilors
City of Kalispell
201 1st Avenue East
Kalispell, MT 59901
Dear Mayor Fisher and Councilors,
I am writing on behalf of the Kalispell Tourism Business Improvement District Board of Directors.
The TBID board would like to express our support for expansion of the Westside Urban Renewal
District. Several of our hotels are located in the proposed expansion area, those properties
would greatly benefit from improvements within the district. Also, potential projects such as
relocation of the railroad tracks, improvements to the fairgrounds and further study of a multi-
use facility would benefit all the lodging facilities in the City of Kalispell.
The TBID is pleased to see the City Council taking a serious look at opportunities to improve our
downtown district through removal of blight and other revitalization opportunities. These types
of improvements are so important in our efforts to attract visitors and particularly larger groups
and tournaments which would provide a significant positive impact to our local economy.
Thank you for your continuing support of Kalispell and our tourism efforts.
Sincerely,
Gib Bissell
