03-24-11 Conrad Mansion MinutesA MEETING OF THE CONRAD MANSION FINANCE COMMITTEE WAS HELD
AT 9:00 A.M., THURSDAY, MARCH 24, 2011, AT THE CONRAD MANSION IN
KALISPELL, MONTANA. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR MIKE KOFFORD
PRESIDED. BOARD PRESIDENT MARK NORLEY, TREASURER EVERIT
SLITER, AND SECRETARY THERESA WHITE WERE PRESENT.
Kofford presented the 2011 Budgetary Expenses Proposal. He and Sliter discussed the Cost
of Goods Sold line items and how they should actually be reported. Both agreed the
inventory should be listed with the actual value, not the retail value as was reported in the
past. Sliter emphasized the inventory should always reflect the actual cost.
Kofford discussed the problems he and staff are having with certain donations and where to
place them within the numerous categories; for example "garden endowment". He asked
that the list be reviewed and restructured.
Kofford announced he recently interviewed two candidates for an Events Coordinator
position. He explained that the mansion could lose three crucial people in the near future
and he would really like to have someone trained and familiar with everything in case that
occurs. Kofford said the personnel budget would remain the same, or lower, since he is not
replacing Sylvie and he would like to hire Kristen Hamilton who was recently laid off from
the Flathead Beacon. He said she is well connected to the community and should actually
be able to bring in additional revenue with her media connections.
There was discussion and consensus that Kofford should offer the position to Kristen
Hamilton on a two -month trial basis for a salary of $9.00 per hour.
