07-27-11 Conrad Mansion MinutesA REGULAR MEETING OF THE CONRAD MANSION BOARD OF DIRECTORS WAS HELD AT 9:00 A.M., WEDNESDAY, JULY 27, 2011, AT FIRST INTERSTATE BANK IN KALISPELL, MONTANA. PRESIDENT MARK NORLEY PRESIDED. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR MIKE KOFFORD AND BOARD MEMBERS BETH COLLIER, SUE CORRIGAN, RITA FITZSIMMONS, GARY HAVENS, TERI IWERSEN, THERESA WHITE, AND COLLEEN UNTERREINER WERE PRESENT. BOARD MEMBERS VANESSA CERAVOLO, GINI OGLE, AND EVERIT SLITER WERE ABSENT. 1. CALL TO ORDER President Norley called the meeting to order. 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - April 7, 2011 May 11, 2011 Havens moved to approve the minutes for April 7 and May 11, 2011. The motion was seconded. The motion carried unanimously upon vote. 3. FINANCIAL/STAFF REPORTS AND REQUESTS Kofford presented a brief overview of the financial status noting the trends remain the same. He said he will be meeting with Sliter and will be presenting a more detailed report at the next meeting. Corrigan moved to accept the financial report. The motion was seconded. The motion carried unanimously upon vote. 4. COLLECTION/ DEACCESSION Norley explained the Collections Committee has been meeting to review the mansion's collection and what can possibly be deaccessioned. Heather Houseworth provided a PowerPoint presentation illustrating thirty-two (32) items the committee is recommending for deaccession. Fitzsimmons stated she does not have a problem with deaccessioning the items, but would like the following pieces kept at the mansion and not disposed of as they may be functional during special events: Original Stools 2 Child's Chair Collapsible Sewing Table Leather Chairs Pair Music Room Chair Chandelier Light Fixture Pieces Conrad Mansion Minutes July 27, 2011 There was further discussion with Norley emphasizing the board has to keep in mind that we cannot store everything and expect the staff to take care of them. Norley moved the board accept the committee's recommendation and deaccess the thirty-two (32) pieces presented by Houseworth. The motion was seconded. Fitzsimmons moved to amend the motion to keep the seven (7) pieces listed above as property at the mansion (they would still be deaccessioned). The motion was seconded. The motion as amended carried unanimously upon vote. Norley said the committee will now work on the next group of items to present to the board. He also noted an antique show is still on the horizon, but we really need someone who is willing to spend a lot of time organizing the event which he estimates will take approximately a year. 5. OLD BUSINESS Kofford reported about 800 people attend the July 4th event, with about $1,100 made between tours and donations. 9. NEXT MEETING 7.
