4. COLLECTION/ DEACCESSION
Norley explained the Collections Committee has been meeting to review the mansion's
collection and what can possibly be deaccessioned. Heather Houseworth provided a
PowerPoint presentation illustrating thirty-two (32) items the committee is recommending
for deaccession.
Fitzsimmons stated she does not have a problem with deaccessioning the items, but would
like the following pieces kept at the mansion and not disposed of as they may be functional
during special events:
Original Stools 2
Child's Chair
Collapsible Sewing Table
Leather Chairs Pair
Music Room Chair
Chandelier
Light Fixture Pieces

There was further discussion with Norley emphasizing the board has to keep in mind that
we cannot store everything and expect the staff to take care of them.
Norley moved the board accept the committee's recommendation and deaccess the
thirty-two (32) pieces presented by Houseworth. The motion was seconded.
Fitzsimmons moved to amend the motion to keep the seven (7) pieces listed above as
property at the mansion (they would still be deaccessioned). The motion was
seconded.
The motion as amended carried unanimously upon vote.
Norley said the committee will now work on the next group of items to present to the
board. He also noted an antique show is still on the horizon, but we really need someone
who is willing to spend a lot of time organizing the event which he estimates will take
approximately a year.
