Approved 6-0. Old Business: None New Business: Montana Lil's — 285 N Main; new freestanding sign/electronic reader board. Discussion regarding location. Sign is code compliant. They will maintain light intensity of 0.3 footcandles or less above ambient light, and are aware of the 5 second rule regarding changing imagery. John moved to approve; Russ seconded. Approved 4-0. 291 3rd Ave EN — new freestanding sign. Russ moved to approve; Julie seconded. Approved 4-0. Rising Sun Bistro — 25 2nd Ave W; projecting signs. Recommend wall signs with a 6 inch gap behind the sign for some relief. John moved to approve; Russ seconded. Approved 4-0. La Fiesta Family Mexican Restaurant — 1260 Hwy 2 W; grandfathered freestanding sign they want to change; 50% rule is in effect which requires them to bring sign into compliance. Russ moved to approve with the condition that they remove the "hook" part and recommend that they remove the "rope" part of the support. John seconded. Approved 4-0. Serious JuJu — 1896 Airport Rd; new covered entry. Russ moved to approve; John seconded. Approved 4-0. Syke's — new parking garage off of 3rd Ave W. May include an apartment later. Johnson submitted updated color elevations, which matched the design of the new Syke's building. Russ moved to approve; Julie seconded. Approved 4-0. 236 2nd Ave W — part of Syke's property. Remodel of existing building Discussed landscaping in parking lot. Design/color matches main building. Gap between this and the adjoining building was discussed; Johnson stated that it is not very visible with the fence that is there. Committee felt that they should wrap around the corner a bit. Russ moved to approve; John seconded. Approved 4-0. Other Discussion: Hagestad Painting — 1020 W Center St; seeking direction on landscaping for new building. Comment that it should maybe look more commercial to fit in with surrounding area. Discussed adding architectural elements. They should keep it in context of house next to it. Maybe do a hip, or a dutch hip. Should maybe add a door in front/balance the doors. Meeting Adjourned at 8:30
