SUBJECT: Ordinance No.1680 — an Ordinance Amending the City of Kalispell
Administrative Code to Reflect Certain Amendments to Duties of
Various City Officers and Departments
MEETING DATE: September 7, 2010 — Regular Council Meeting
BACKGROUND: In 1991, with the change of city government structure to the Council/City
Manager form, the City Council passed Ordinance No. 1166 as the administrative code of the
City. This ordinance defined the various official offices of the city along with the duties and
obligations associated with the office. Over the last twenty years some amendments were made
that were not properly codified and others were put in place administratively. The purpose of
Ordinance No. 1680 is to correct these deficiencies and internal inconsistencies in the
administrative code.
