SUBJECT: Recognition of Reserve Officer Terry Mitton
MEETING DATE: November 1, 2010
BACKGROUND: The Kalispell Police Department instituted a Reserve [officer
Program in late 2007 with three reserve officer candidates. A reserve officer is a sworn,
part-time, volunteer member of the Kalispell Police Department who is a peace officer
only when authorized to perform these functions as a representative of our department.
The candidates are required to pass a minimum 88 hours of basic training and
successfully complete an intensive 300 hour FT program to be removed from field
training status.
It is my privilege to recognize Kalispell Reserve Officer Terry Mitton for being the first
reserve officer to successfully complete all phases and requirements of the Reserve
Officer Program.. Reserve Officer Mitton will be awarded an official KPD badge as a
result of his successful completion and dedication to the Kalispell Police Reserve
Program.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Official recognition of Reserve officer Terry Mitton.
FISCAL EFFECTS: Substantial benefit for the city.
