This is to express nay interest for a position on the Kalispell Police Commission. I have
never served on a conlnnittee, however I feel that I have several qualifications that could be
of benefit to the police coiTmssion.
I have been a continuous resident of the city of Kalispell for nearly57 ears. The only
y y
time that I did not reside within the city iinlits was the four years that I served in the U. S.
Army. I was a court reporter in the army and that began nay interest in the judicial process
that w-
would eventually lead me to law enforcement. I have had an office on main street for
the past 23 years.
I served on the Kalispell Police Department for 20 years and retired in 1987. The assistant
chief of police is the only person remaining on the department that I worked with. During
my time on the police department, and since retiring, I have conducted thousands of
interviews. I have worked with lave enforcement throughout the state conducting
polygraph examinations during and since my retirement.
I feel that nay background and expertise could be of benefit to the Kalispell Police
p
Commission. I am at a point in my life where I have the time to devote to volunteer
positions and hope that you will consider me for appointment to the police commission.
Respectfully yours,
Dick Stotts

I PLDRK
I am writing this letter in regards to an opening on the Police
Commission board. I have been a resident of Kalispell for 15 years.
I moved here with my family in March of 1995. My nephew had just
been murdered by a gang in Ventura, Ca. where we lived. My wife and I
needed a better environment in which to raise our children. Her family
all lived here so we vacationed here quite often. We decided to move
here and we are very happy we did. I currently own 4 homes in
Kalispell, three of which I rent out. My children are all grown now and
work and live here in Kalispell. I currently have 3 Grandchildren, all
born here in Kalispell. I feel it is time to give back to this community for
all it has given us. I have owned and managed businesses for 30 years
and feel I am qualified to dill the position if you so choose. I am able to
commit for the 3 year term and look forward to the opportunity of
serving on the Police Commission board.
