This is to express my interest for a position on. the Kalispell Police Commission. I have
never served on a committee, however I feel that I have several qualifications that could be
of benefit to the police commission.
I have been a continuous resident of the city of Kalispell for nearly 67 years. The only
time that I did not reside within the city limits was the four years that I served in the U.S.
Army. I was a court reporter in the army and that began any interest in the judicial process
that would eventually lead me to law enforcement. I have had an office on main. street for
the past 23 years.
I served on the Kalispell Police Department for 20 years and retired in 1987. The assistant
chief of police is the only person remaining on the department that I worked with. During
my time on the police department, and since retiring, I have conducted thousands of
interviews. I have worked with law enforcement throughout the state conducting
polygraph examinations during and since my retirement.
I feel that my background and expertise could be of benefit to the Kalispell Police
Commission.. I any at a point in my life where I have the time to devote to volunteer
positions and hope that you will consider me for appointment to the police commission.
Respectfully yours,
Dick Stotts
