4. Postpone Contract Award - Public Safety Building UpgradeREPORT TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: Michael Baker, Director, Parks and Recreation SUBJECT: Grant Funded Public Safety Building Upgrade MEETING DATE: April 1 S, 2011 BACKGROUND: The City of Kalispell was awarded grant funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and the Department of Justice to complete energy efficiency, I.T., security, and infrastructure improvements to the Public Safety Building. The City received two bids for the project from two local construction firms, Martel Construction and Swank Enterprises. Staff is requesting additional time to review the bids. ACTION REQUESTED: Postpone award of bid for the Public Safety Building Improvement Project until May 2, 2011. FISCAL EFFECTS: No budgetary effects at this time.
