MEETING- DATE: April 4, 2011
BACKGROUND: The City of Kalispell intends to make storm water improvements to the South
Meadows Subdivision. This subdivision was developed between 1977 and 1994 with an open ditch storm
water system on public and private property. As the residential properties have developed, many of these
ditches have been filled or modified, causing the storm water system to fail. The City advertised a request
Statements of Qualification, and on March 25, 2011, the City received eleven Statements of Qualification
from local and regional engineering firms. The selection committee will review these Statements of
Qualification and make a recommendation to the City Council at the April 18, 2011, meeting.
ACTION REQUESTED: At Council Meeting April 4, 2011-- Motion to postpone entering into an
Agreement for Services for the South Meadows Subdivision Drainage Improvements Project to the
April 18, 2011 Council Meeting.
FISCAL EFFECTS: No effect on current budget
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Council
