Re: Elks Potential RV Park expansion
Dear Mr. Williams:
As I stated in our brief meeting today, the Kalispell Elks
Lodge has an interest in the purchase or long-term lease of
City property immediately west of the present Elks' property
and RV park. When we constructed the present RV park, we had
plans drawn for expansion to the west, with the understanding
we would need to purchase or lease City property to do so.
I understand the City is working toward an Airport Authority
to govern the airport property. We would be interested in
discussing this proposal with either the City Council or the
Airport Board or any other agency which the City would feel
appropriate for a determination of this proposal.
We presently have ten parking stalls, and a majority of the
people staying there are Elks members from around the country
who come to visit Flathead Valley. We feel this is a real
benefit to the downtown area businesses, being the only RV
park within the City -1-mits, to our knowledge. We would
anticipate an additional twenty parking stalls, with the
potential of many more RV tourists being located within the
downtown area.
Please bring this to the attention of the appropriate agency
for their consideration.
I would be happy to attend any meeting -,r meet with anyone
who would have any questions concerning this proposal.
Sincerely youi7,4`
