Minutes from August 18, 1997 Meeting
The meeting began at 4:00—p ti: f Present we e: Mike Baker, Diana
Harrison, Kathy Kuhlinr,`and Clarence Krepp (staff), Gib Bissell,
Reed Lamb, Tom Reynolds, K Robl I nd Art Thompson.
The following documents were distributed: Art's draft letter to
Senator Baucus and Senator Burns; Gib's draft letter to same; July
18th memo to Clarence from Diane Fuller at the FAA regarding the
September 19th meeting; and the minutes from the August llth meeting.
It was noted that Walt Nolte 's replacement would be appointed at
tonight's Council Meeting.
Discussion was held and the decision was made to send a letter to
our Senators requesting their support, and to invite their local
representatives to the September 19th meeting. Additions,
corrections and deletions were made to the draft letter, and Kathy
will retype it. Art moved for the approval of the letter, Keith
seconded the motion, and the board unanimously approved it.
The September 19th meeting was dis ed. Yt--was Led that the
meeting take place at the tonal Guard Armory inste d of City
Hall, with the Elks as,,,- backup ion, and all agreed.
Daley Field received two bids, which will be presented to the
Council on September 2nd.
Clarence received the latest contract from Morrison-Maierle during
the meeting. He will go over the contract, and then send it off
for the independent evaluation. The City has to pay extra for the
B-1 estimate.
Regarding the letter from the FAA dated July 18th, a letter needs
to be prepared to reflect our agenda requests, answers to their
questions, and notice of the different location for the meeting.
The agenda items are: (1) airport tour; (2) future goals; (3)
present state of airport, including city commitment for
improvements and needs of current users; and status of the Master
Plan, NPIAS listing, and FAA funding.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:05 p.m.
The next regular meeting will be Wednesday, September 10, 1997 at
4:00 p.m.
