RE: Kalispell City Airport
Dear Mr. Brown:
We were pleased to learn that recently you visited our City airport and
reviewed it's activity and condition. This airport serves a fantastic
economic purpose to the City of Kalispell and the aircraft owners of
Northwestern Montana. Along with the many advantages of the airport it
also has problems which we recognize and plan to solve. As a matter of
fact we have allocated monies for immediate construction with our own
local funding.
We realize that congress has not yet passed the ADAP bill. Therefore,
we are not awaiting that federal action to start on correcting our
airport. We feel that with our community's support we can take some
immediate steps which will be merely a stop gap measure but will keep
us operational and safe.
We are interested in receiving federal aid for our airport in the future
and the purpose of this letter is to request that the FAA make a deter-
mination as to whether or not our airport meets NASP eligibility.
Eligibility will make great differences for us in our long range efforts.
Some of our problems are solvable immediately but others are more major
and we simply need FAA assistance through the ADAP grant program in order
to bring the airport to a standard worthy of its traffic.
Thank you kindly for an early response.
Sincerely,
iyor
