05-12-11 Site Review MinutesSITE DEVELOPMENT REVIEW COMMITTEE SUMMARY Thursday, May 12, 2011 Lower Level Main Conference Room 201 First Avenue East ATTENDING: Jeff Clawson, Building Official Sean Conrad, Senior Planner Dan Diehl, Fire Chief Tom Jentz, Planning Director Charlie Johnson, Construction Manager Roger Krauss, Asst. Police Chief P.J. Sorensen, Chairman Kathy Kuhlin, Recording Secretary GUESTS: James Freyholtz, M.D.O.T. HEAR THE PUBLIC: None. PERFORMANCE BOND REMINDERS: None. OLD BUSINESS: None. NEW BUSINESS: Auto Zone — 130 West Idaho — old King's Buffet building and old brick building (formerly a seamstress location and it was also a BBQ hut) . They are tearing down the building and the house behind it and replacing it all with an approximate 7,300 sq. ft. building just off the alley, towards the north of the lot. They will keep the existing sign pole. No access directly onto Idaho, but two off of 2nd Street WN, along with access off of the alley. They plan on doing a substantial amount of landscaping, and will also be putting in a bike rack. Freyholtz mentioned that MDT will be redoing the sidewalks as part of their overlay white topping project along Idaho. Plans were distributed to everyone for their review. This will be on next week's agenda. PLANNING OFFICE ITEMS: No projects for the June meeting. They will be sending a letter recommending the extension of Ashley Park, Phase 9. This is a triangular piece of land in the SW corner. Their bond for the retention wall or sound wall is good through August of this year. The wall will need to be completed before any houses are built on that west side. OTHER REPORTS: KRMC — The water taps, water line, and chlorination at the hospital will be taking place tonight. LHC is working on Four Mile Drive. They will be doing something with the approach onto Stillwater. Presently, there are road closure signs posted. An alternate access for temporary, overflow parking at Kidsports was discussed. There is a ditch that would need a lot of fill in the area farther west. Now they are looking at an area in front of Station 62 and building a jump over the curb to enter in there as an access. The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 a.m.
