Does the City of Kalispell want to redefine itself as the business/retail and cultural arts center
of North West Montana?
2. Does the proposed Growth Policy identify an area suitable to meet the needs of retail growth?
Will retailers locate there, is their adaquit provisions for infrastructure?
Will the County continue to approve projects that greatly impact the City but have little
impact on the County? If so, how can Kalispell's residents regain control over their own
destiny?
4. Would the City be willing to adjust the Growth Policy knowing that it must also aggressively
deal with ALL of the surrounding issues? Annexation, Fire, Sewer, Streets, Water etc.
5. Should the City exchange some areas within the extra territorial boundary for greater control
over a smaller area? Should we expand the area around the proposed change?
6. How do we move forward with the adoption of the Growth Policy? Dale Williams is not
interested in meeting with the Council until after- the Planning Board makes their
recommendations, however Howard Gipe is much more receptive to a meeting to resolve the
issues, I have not spoken to Bob Watne.
7. Does the City want to review its appointments to the Planning Board? Can the City hope to
have any influence over the Planning Board?
