I am providing you with two letters addressing separate topics. First is a letter following
up Wolford's meetings with you and staff earlier this week and in anticipation of the city council
workshop on Monday.
Second, is a copy of a letter from me to Scott Wurster offered as assistance in his efforts
to seek an AG's opinion on SB 97. I suspect that you almost exclusively defer to your city
attorneys to handle legal issues, but since the AG's opinion on this bill --whatever the opinion
ultimately may be --will directly affect the city's ability to re -zone property, I anticipate you and
the council are paying very close attention to the wording of the city's request, and supporting
analysis, that will go to the AG. Therefore, I thought you might appreciate having my letter and
accompanying materials as background to helping you better understand SB 97's affect on the
adoption and amendment of zoning in the post -October 1, 2001 world.
Sincerely,
KAUFMAN, VIDAL & HILEMAN, P.C.
