Honorable Douglas Rauthe
Mayor, City of Kalispell
P. O. Box 1997
Kalispell, MT 59901
Dear Mayor Rauthe:
This confirms our meeting with Kalispell City officials, Hampton Inn representatives,
and Karl Christians of the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation
to review the current status of the Hampton Inn's development in the Spring Creek
floodway. This meeting will be held May 27, 1997 at 2:30 p.m. at the Hampton Inn.
The Inn's development in the floodway was determined to be in violation of the City of
Kalispell's Ordinance No.1170 which establishes the requirements for proposed
development in the designated floodplain (which includes the regulatory floodway). In
addition to your participation, we ask that the following City officials, at a minimum, be
present for the meeting: City Attorney, City Manager, Zoning Administrator, and
Building Official. Other City officials you feel should be present are also welcome.
We look forward to meeting with you and other City officials as we review the City of
Kalispell's floodplain management program. If you have any questions regarding this
meeting, you can reach me at (303) 235-4843.
Sincerely,
Virgi ' yama
