RE: Westwood Park Subdivision
Increase Water Main Size
Westwood Park Subdivision is located north of the north end of Corporate Way and east
of Greenbriar Subdivision. The 2002 Kalispell Facilities Plan identified a water loop
closure between Greenbriar Drive and Corporate Way (Project I.D. W-EX-1). This loop
would be approximately 325 feet of 12" water main. The 2001 estimated cost for this
loop was $49,890.00
The Westwood Park Subdivision water distribution system was designed to close this
loop with an 8" pipe. The contractor has estimated that to increase the pipe size to the
recommended 12" diameter would be approximately $27,000.00
The 12" diameter is recommended to improve the hydraulic capability of the City's
water system along the Two Mile Drive corridor as recommended in the 2002 Facility
Plan. Making this improvement as part of a regular development project offers the City
a savings of approximately $23,000.00. It should be funded from the water fund SDC
account because it reflects a capacity related improvement.
