As a resident of Village Greens, I am writing my disapproval of the proposed
annexation plan. It is untimely, and of no benefit to me.
I am aware of your previous plan to annex the "strip". 1 feel that is where you
are presently going with this move.
I feel 1 have all the amenities 1 need here presently, and see no benefit
whatsoever. 1 do, however, see a high raise in taxes coming. As the city
manager said, "No guarantees". I have always felt that Kalispell is greedy,
thus the absence of business here. 1 also wonder what you will do when you
reach the contiguous area next to Evergreen School? Will that be annexed
into District 4,5? 1 also do not desire licensing my golf cart, or paying taxes on
that equipment!
s I see no benefit, 1 vote against annexation.

t the fall meeting of home owners of Village Greens, held at the Elks o
9/1.2/00, the City Manager of Kalispell spoke of the proposed forced annexation of
Village Greens to the City of Kalispell, he made the following statements:
1. The average increase in our yearly taxes to the city of Kalispell royal. be
between $200 and $300, depending on the size of the lot and home# Why did the town-
house owners at Fairway Boulevard immediately be assessed over $500 n rease?hen
they were annexed years ago?
2. We were told that we have been paying 125 more per month for sever fee
than other city residents. I don't recall his saying that this would be discon-
tinued.

Re: Glacier Village Greens annexation
This letter expresses our opposition to the proposed annexation. In our opinion this is a unilateral
benefit with the city of Kalispell being the only benefactor. We currently have trash pick-up,
which we pay for; water, which we pay for; police protection from an excellent sheriffs
department; sewer, which we pay a 25% surcharge to the city of Kalispell; snow removal, which
we pay for. Our current taxes plus the fees we pay for the preceding, totals much less than the
taxes we would pay the city of Kalispell with NO additional benefit to Village Greens.
The city of Kalispell would benefit through Village Greens property taxes. This is simply a way
for Kalispell to receive increased revenues with no reciprocal benefit to the taxpayer.
We strongly oppose this annexation.
