Parking Commission
December 7, 1988 4:00 PM Conference Room/City Hall
Attending: Chairman Gordon Pirrie, Steve Cooney and Gary McCarthy.
FVCC
Gordon reviewed the offer made by the parking commission to FVCC for
Heritage Hall for $215,000. He stated that the college will be coming
back to the commission and the city with a package to sell all the college
property. That offer is expected after the college board meets this week.
O'Neil Property
Gordon reviewed the Buy/Sell Agreement for $120,000 from the O'Neil's to
the parking commission which is subject to Council approval. The parking
commission recommended to the Mayor and Council to purchase the property
and use the existing building as storage for city Xmas decorations, etc.
At the City Development Committees meeting on Dec. 2rd, they asked that
the city have an appraisal done on the property, and make a final decision
on whether or not to recommend to council to purchase after the college
proposal to the city and the appraiial is completed.
Gordon reivewed for the commission the letter that was sent to Tom Kosena
in Missoula, from the commission, in support of Missoula asking Legislature
to grant Municipalities the authority to decide as to the creation of
Residential Permit Parking Programs (RPPP).
There was informal discussion of parking alternatives/options in the
downtown area concerning new and future businesses.
