CTA Architects Engineers 2 Main Street, Suite 205 Kalispell, MT 59904 Re: New Flathead High School System Development Charges Dear Mr. Smith: The following is an itemized estimate of the System Development Charges (SDC) for the New Flathead High School. These costs reflect the charges for the year 2005. The actual charges will be based on the year's costs in which the building permit is applied for. Each item's cost as well as the information used to derive that cost is stated. All provided information will be verified at the time of application for a building permit. Changes to the provided information will change the cost. Additionally, I have included the estimate for connection to the water and sewer lines that will service the high school as part of the approved latecomer's agreement for West View Estates. These estimates are based upon the preliminary design data provided by your firm and are subject to change. Sewer SDC* $76,752.00 *Based on 1200 students at 0.03 Equivalent Residential Units (ERU) per student and the 2005 cost of $2,132.00 per ERU. This results in 36 ERU x $2132.00/ERU = $76,752.00. Water SDC** $82,277.39 **Based on a peak daily flow of 35,600 gpd and an average daily flow of 27,412 gpd that you supplied. The charge is based on a cost of $37.59/ERU with 947 gpd/ERU for the peak daily flow, and $71.20/ERU with 385 gpd/ERU for 110% of the average daily flow. The latecomer's agreement costs are determined by equating the school's water and sewer flows to an Equivalent Dwelling Unit (EDU). These costs are based on construction in the year 2005. If construction does not occur in 2005 then a factor will be applied to determine the appropriate cost in the actual year of construction. Sewer Latecomers*** $43,378.79 ***Based on a peak flow of 60 gpm and the equivalence of 0.66 gpm/EDU at a cost of $476.69 per EDU. This results in 91 EDU x $476.69 = $43,378.79. Water Latecomers"" * * $75,294.15 ****Based on a peak flow of 270 gpm and the equivalence of 0.62 gpm/EDU at a cost of $173.09 per EDU. This results in 435 EDU x 4173.09 = $75,294.15. The cost per EDU for both the sewer and water is an engineer's estimate of the cost to construct the project. Final construction costs will be used to determine the actual costs. Additionally, should the Fire Marshall require a fire flow of more than 1000 gpm, a charge for that increase in capacity will also be calculated. Hopefully these numbers will allow you to provide a reasonable estimate of costs for your client as the design progresses. If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
