RE: Mountain View Plaza
Dear Dick:
Pursuant our discussion of April 18' we are proceeding with the design of the water main
extension and supply for the subject project at build out with the following design criteria:
o Fire flow
2250.gallons per minute for two hours
s Maximum Day
1400 gallons per minute for the. upper zone
o Maximum Day
124 gallons per minute for Mountain View Plaza
s ` Total Flow
3774 gallons per minute
Available supply is from the combination of storage and: pumpage for the fire duration. This is
summarized as:
♦ Storage
100000 gallons
♦ Supply _Grandview #1
1100 gallons per minute
♦. Booster Pump #1' '-'
1500 gallons per minute
♦ Booster Pump - #2
.1250 gallons per minute
® Booster Pump #3
900 gallons per minute
Booster PLmp #4
700 gallons per minute
Water Quality Circular #2 for public water systems requires the booster pump system to meet
the maximum day with the largest pump out of service. The total supply available including the
Grandview Well #1 is 3950 gallons per minute. Since the supply is greater then the demand
fire flows can be meet during the event regardless of the volume in storage and no
improvements are necessary for the existing supply to meet the demands.
We. are re -running .the analysis and will provide the. print out when completed..
