Box 1997 Kalispell, Montana 59903 Re: Mountain View Plaza Via facsimile: 406.758.7758 Dear Mr. Seddon: I have received your letter dated June 20 regarding water availability at the Home Depot site. The wording of the letter brings up a potential conflict. In previous meetings and most recently the June 28P site review meeting, we discussed two distinct issues regarding fine protection: 1) I requested confirmation that water availability for fire protection would not be required until combustible (decking as an example) materials were delivered on site, and 2) in a worst case scenario, would the on -site well be sufficient for water availability for fire protection. My understanding from these discussions are: 1) no, water availability for fire protection is not required until delivery of combustible materials to the site, and 2) yes, the well would be sufficient as long as improvements were made such as a direct hose hook-up, easy on and off, etc. Your letter can be interpreted to mean that the well and its improvements must be in place when Home Depot begins construction and prior to combustible materials delivery. I am requesting a further clarification regarding our previous discussions on these issues. Please feel free to contact we regarding any questions you have. I appreciate your prompt, attention to the matter and thank you in advance for your continued assistance. We require that an all weathers road be in place to the water well, and that a the well site have two, 21/2 inch fire department ports in place as specified by Public Works Departmont. The pump at the well site would have to have an on - off system that was simple -and easy'to use. At the time that combustibles are delivered to the site, the water and hydrant system will be in place.
