BACKGROUND: The Grover Company and Cole + Russell Associates were retained to develop
a plan for the design and construction of a north fire station. The first step in this process was to
develop a feasibility study including a needs assessment, conceptual plan, estimates for construction,
and recommendations for funding and construction. They are ready to present their findings to the
Council. (See attached documents)
August 19, 2004 is the last day to submit documents for general obligation bonds to the county for
the November general election. Should Council decide to put this before the voters as a general
obligation bond, a resolution will be presented to Council for approval at the August 16, 2004
council meeting.
RECOMMENDATIONS; Council reviews the presentation by The Grover Company and Cole +
Russell Associates and discusses construction and funding options for the north fire station.
