with the Parks Department.
OLD BUSINESS: Sykes, 202 2nd Avenue West — We issued the Foundation Permit. There's
three interior footings that are 14' x 14', so each one is 40 yards of concrete. The rest of that
goes from two to five feet. Elkins is still working on the Plans Review for this project. As far as
the site layout, Public Works has some issues. Their most up-to-date Site Plan has photometrics
on it. They're not sure how the west side of the alley is going to layout. A lot of Lot 10 is going
to be left open. They will maintain a 20 foot driving lane there for future development. They also
have a 20' open paving area for snow storage. In front of the barber shop, we wanted some sort
of landscape island. Presently, they want to put in timber planters on the asphalt but may do a
more permanent landscape area. Would these be acceptable with the idea that they may or may
not be amended in the future? Generally we haven't had planters on top of asphalt because they
tend to disappear a year or two into the future. Everyone agreed that they would like something
more permanent for landscaping there. We won't need to know exactly what the species or
dimensions will be, but as part of the plans, we would want to see something more permanent.
The light well needs more details on it.
NEW BUSINESS: None.
PLANNING OFFICE ITEMS: No plans or projects for February. We are continuing to work
through the Subdivision Regulations to update them.
OTHER REPORTS:
Phil Harris is interesting in having the Kalispell Fire Department burn down the old Westgate
Theatre building. They will be working with the County in trying to be able to burn it. A lot of
the building is concrete.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:20 a.m.
