Schwarz Architecture & Engineering 100 Financial Drive, Suite #120 Kalispell, Montana 59901 Sent Via Fax: 406-755-1320 RE: Glacier Meadows Subdivision Kalispell, Montana Subject: Letter Dated March 28, 2003 Dear Mr. Schwarz: Based on the subject letter we request the following items in order to continue the approval process for the referenced project: 1. Test data that verifies the existing sub -base and base material meet the requirements shown on City of Kalispell Design Standard Drawing No. 3 must be submitted. The total asphalt thickness should be at least 4". 2. The transverse slope of the pavement must be two per cent. 3. Washed gravel, or any other material is not to be used for fill in open drainage ditches. The open ditches should be re -vegetated with sod only. 4. A plan -profile sheet for 'upgraded' Granrud Drive must be submitted. In addition, the plan -profile sheet should contain the drainage details for the Granrud Drive - Granite Lane intersection, and Granrud Drive - Buffalo Stage intersection. Finally, one last point must be made. Note No. 1 of the City of Kalispell Design Standard Drawing No. 3 (copy attached) states in part "This cross-section must be approved by the City Council prior to incorporating into the drawings." The City Council's approval of this project was based upon a standard level for upgrading Granrud Drive. Although we have no disagreement in principle with the proposal submitted, it reflects a deviation from the concept that was initially approved by the City Council and therefore it must receive City Council approval prior to use. 1tr0102003 If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Frank Castles in this office.
