Dear Mr. Hansz:
Pursuant to your letter dated April 1, 2003 concerning the referenced project, we
submit the following information:
We have provided a road detail which meets requirements of City of Kalispell
Design Standard Drawing No. 3. The detail also contains a note that indicates
if the sub -base and base material meet this some standard, they will remain
in place.
2. The transverse slope of 2% is indicated on the road detail.
3. The road detail calls out sod in the open ditches.
4. A plan -profile sheet for Granrud Lane is included. The intersections of Granite Lane
and Buffalo Stage will have 18" culverts installed for continuation of the drainage
System.
We understand that the proposed alternate design for Granrud Lane must be
approved by the City Council prior to approval from your staff. The owner has 24
months from final plat approval to upgrade Granrud Lane, so this will be the last portion
of the project to be completed. If possible, we would request that an approval from
Public Works be issued for the project with the exception of Granrud Lane
improvements, which would be contingent upon Kalispell City Council approval. This
would allow the owner to proceed with the project.

Finally, we did not receive a response to our questions concerning the pipe bedding
material issue.
