RE: Airport Protection ZonesScott:
There is a City Ordinance called "Airport Affected Area" that has height
restriction in it. The City Clerk can get you a copy of the Ordinance.
Call her at 758-7756 and she will make it available to you. It
encompasses an oval around the Kalispell City Airport and extends two
miles off either end of the airport and one mile on both sides of the
airport. If you are in that oval, there are height restrictions that
could pose a hazard to arriving and departing aircraft.
Thank you for check on this.

Subject: Airport Protection Zones
Hello, my name is Scott Hadwin, and I own the McDonald's in the valley.
I recently purchased a helium blimp to use for special occasions, and
will be flying it above my restaurant during the Fair next week
(Thursday through Sunday). In reviewing our permit, there is a special
notation that says "note airport protection zones". Unfortunately,
there is no other reference to it, and I can't find anything about it on
the internet. Could you please tell me of any restrictions of height of
blimp, so that we are in compliance. We would not be flying it any
higher than 200'.
I look forward to your response.
Thank you,
Scott J. Hadwin
