November 7 - Deadline for the Nov/Dec issue of the Heading Bug.
November 7 – First Saturday Social for pilots, families, and friends,
hosted by the Gallatin Valley Hangar, at Aero Flight School (East Ramp
or 305 Aviation Lane), Gallatin Field, 9:00 a.m.
November 16 - Joint EAA 517 and MPA-Five Valleys Hangar Meeting 7:00 PM,
Missoula Airport Conference Room -- The program will center around
mountain flying and survival. Our guest speaker is local flight
instructor and corporate pilot Art Dysktra. There will be refreshments
served.
December 1 - Deadline of Comment Period: Lewis and Clark National
Forest- Rocky Mountain Ranger District is proposing a maintenance fee of
$10 per night at the Benchmark Airstrip (3U7) - Vanderiet Memorial
Pilot's Campground. The decision has not been made yet and your
comments are important. The comment period extends through December
1st. Representatives from Montana Aeronautics Division, Montana
Pilots' Association and Recreational Aviation Foundation are scheduling
a meeting for October or November to discuss alternatives and will keep

December 2 - Montana Pilots' Association 70th Anniversary
December 5 - MPA Board of Directors meeting in Helena - 10:30 a.m.. All
MPA officers, Committee Chairs, Representatives, Hangar Presidents and
other interested parties please mark your calendars.
December 5 – First Saturday Social for pilots, families, and friends,
hosted by the Gallatin Valley Hangar, at Aero Flight School (East Ramp
or 305 Aviation Lane), Gallatin Field, 9:00 a.m.
December 17 - MPA Five Valleys Hangar and EAA Chapter 517 will again
have a joint dinner event on Thursday, December 17, to help us get into
the holiday spirit as well as to commemorate the 106th anniversary of
the Wright Brothers first powered flight. This year's dinner will be
held in the Three Rivers Room at the Holiday Inn - Downtown (200 South
Pattee Street) in Missoula beginning at 6:00 PM. A two entree chicken
and sirloin buffet dinner will be served at 6:30 PM followed by a short
program and the traditional "White Elephant" gift exchange.
Participation in the gift exchange is optional. The cost of the dinner
is only $20 per person. Please make your checks out to EAA Chapter 517
and mail them to Sherry Rossiter, P.O. Box 16446, Missoula, MT 59808 no
later than December 12. If you have questions, please call Sherry at
