Hi Jane
Hope you're having a good day.
I talked with a nice person at Montana Municipal Interlocal
Authority about insurance issues and the city airport.
She says they have nothing to do with that, but that I should ask the
"governing body" about specific "aeronautic insurance" for the airport.
Would you do a little digging for me? Do we have aeronautic insurance?
If we are going to have an airport, we need to be willing to have it
properly staffed and insured. If we are not willing to take care of
the airport, then perhaps our energy should go somewhere else.
I feel that all pilots going through the airport should present their
paperwork - pilot's license, driver's license and proof of liability
insurance to a city staff person. What do you think? They would
also pay that person our local fee, fines etc. similar to the golf
course - 36.00 or whatever....
Right now, there is nobody down there. No office - no phone - no
person. It is helter-skelter. This seems inconceivable to me in the
21st century. How can we call it a city airport, when the city is
not there???
I look forward to hearing from you.
Steve
