Recognizing the NW Montana Fair & Rodeo and Commemorating America's 250th Anniversary
WHEREAS, the NW Montana Fair & Rodeo has served as a cherished annual tradition in Kalispell, bringing together
residents, families, and visitors, from across Flathead County and the state of Montana to celebrate our rich
community heritage; and
WHEREAS, the Fair highlights the vital role of agriculture, livestock production, 4-H and FFA youth development,
domestic arts, local entrepreneurship, and Western traditions that form the backbone of our local culture and
economy; and
WHEREAS, as our community gathers to reflect on our shared history, values, and traditions, the nation marks a
monumental milestone —the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the United States of America —honoring two and a
half centuries of freedom, resilience, and self -governance since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776;
and
WHEREAS, the spirit of independence, hard work, stewardship, and neighborly community celebrated across the
United States for 250 years is embodied every day in the heart of the Flathead Valley and on the grounds of the
Flathead County Fairgrounds; and
WHEREAS, the NW Montana Fair & Rodeo August 12 -15, 2026, provides a meaningful venue for all citizens to
gather, reflect on our nation's heritage, support our youth and agricultural leaders of tomorrow, and enjoy the very
best of Western Montana;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Council President of the City of Kalispell, Montana, do hereby proclaim the week of August 10,
2026, as:
NW MONTANA FAIR & RODEO WEEK in the City of Kalispell, and urge all citizens, families, and visitors to join in
celebrating our community's agricultural heritage, supporting our local youth, and honoring the 250th birthday of our
great nation during this historic year. J�
