Hi Katie,
Thank you so much for your comments. I appreciate the sentiment of support. Unfortunately
there isn't anything the city can do about Lake Blaine access because it is out of the city, but I
recommend you reach out to the County Commissioners and County Parks to see if they have
any information that can help. The only other option would be to look for opportunities to
purchase some property on the lake with your neighbors to create a public access site. Sorry I
can't be more helpful.

Hello Mayor, and I guess the council too since I couldn't find any other email to send this to.
First of all, I want to say to Mayor Hunter, thank you for your care and passion for the community. Many
of us in this town are sick of the political fights and want to work together, across party lines and across
anything else that divides us, to help Kalispell through this time of extreme growth. You probably didn't
think you were going to win, and I bet you regret that you did some days, with the reception you have
received, but I want to let you know that many of us want to come together to support anyone who is
willing to admit that our town is the fastest growing town in Montana, and realize that it will require all
of us working together to make sure it's done the right way. We can walk around angry at the growth
with a chip on our shoulder, we can fight with each other, or we can roll up our sleeves and get to work,
and I prefer to get to work. I hope the people of the council can work together with you, to focus on
improving life for the people of Kalispell, which is what public service is all about.
I know this is out of yourjurisdiction, as the lake is not in city limits, but I was hoping you might have
some ideas to help. One thing that has weighed heavy on my heart is the removal of public access to
Lake Blaine. This is a beloved local lake that used to be open to the public. Somehow, wealthy
landowners took it over and have blocked all public access. My husband grew up spending summers at
Lake Blaine and now we can't even take our kids there. It feels like we as citizens have no path forward to
regain access to a lake that used to be public in the first place. I want to work on fixing this, but I don't
know where to start. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
