Resolution 6333 - Adopts 2026 Water Facility Plan UpdateRESOLUTION NO.6333
A RESOLUTION TO ADOPT THE 2026 WATER FACILITY PLAN UPDATE FOR THE
CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA, AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on February 17, 2009, the City Council adopted Resolution 5342, approving the
City of Kalispell Water, Sewer, and Storm Drainage Facility Plan based upon
engineering studies and projections of the future demands for these facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Water Facility Plan was updated on September 4, 2018, by Resolution 5896;
and
WHEREAS, the city has generated an update to the Water Facility Plan to respond to actual
growth patterns and to reflect details on the future water and sewer system
requirements that will service existing and new development within the city; and
WHEREAS, on July 6, 2026, the City Council of the City of Kalispell held a public hearing,
after due and proper notice, and received zero (0) public comments upon the
proposed Water Facility Plan Update; and
WHEREAS, upon consideration of the recommendations made by the city public works
professional staff, and upon review of the proposed update, the City Council of
the City of Kalispell finds that it is in the best interest of the city to adopt the 2026
Water Facility Plan Update as set forth in Exhibit "A", attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the Montana Land Use Planning Act requires the city provide certain utility
information in its Land Use Plan which may be accomplished through
incorporating facility plans by reference into the Kalispell Land Use Plan PLAN -
IT 2045.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City of Kalispell 2026 Water Facility Plan Update, attached hereto as
Exhibit "A", shall be and is hereby approved and adopted and shall be
implemented by the City of Kalispell until hereafter amended or replaced.
Exhibit "A" shall be made available to the public upon request at the city
offices of Public Works.
SECTION 2. This facility plan is hereby incorporated in full into the Kalispell Land Use
Plan PLAN -IT 2045.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately following its passage
by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
